My Writing Coaches say it's all in how a book starts...

So I'm practicing some first sentences that I think would start an interesting book: 1. I woke up drunk in St. Louis wearing unfamiliar red shoes and a blank, "Hello My Name Is" badge.... 2. Marshall walked into the room. He couldn't look at me, so I knew nothing good would come out of his mouth. 3. Tendra was one of those women who could out drink the average man, but she wore pink every day. 4. The way Senator Anderson held the brief case, it had to hold more than notes. I knew his secrets. Hell, I was his secret. 5. I never thought I was a ring girl. But the moment he removed it from the black bag, my heart skipped.
